The Eclipse Sportback is the most anticipated vehicle of the 2027 lineup. It's a fully electric subcompact SUV, developed with Nissan and based on the next-generation LEAF, but given a distinct Mitsubishi identity: model-specific front and rear fascias, exclusive lighting signatures, sporty alloy wheels and the Triple Diamond badge.
It revives the Eclipse name, which arrived in North America in 1990, and it's part of Mitsubishi's Momentum 2030 plan, which commits to a new or significantly revised vehicle every year through 2030.

This is the single most important point for an Eclipse Sportback buyer in Quebec. The provincial Roulez vert program ends December 31, 2026. What matters is not the order date or the purchase date, but the date the vehicle is registered in your name.
What that means in practice: an Eclipse Sportback delivered and registered in fall 2026 may qualify, while the same vehicle registered in January 2027 will not. Amounts and eligibility rules are set by the Government of Quebec and can change without notice; we verify your eligibility before you order.

The RVR is Mitsubishi's best-selling model in Canada in 2026, with 5,353 units in the first half of the year. The 2027 arrives in showrooms in August 2026.
Six trims are offered: ES front-wheel drive, ES AWC, SE AWC, SEL AWC, NOIR AWC and GT AWC. The 2.0L engine rated at 148 horsepower powers both ES trims; the 2.4L rated at 168 horsepower powers SE and above. Continuously variable transmission across the range, and All-Wheel Control with mode selector standard on every trim except the front-wheel-drive ES.
What's new for 2027: the SE AWC gains FAST keyless entry with push-button start and a heated steering wheel -- two meaningful additions on the best-selling trim. The NOIR AWC gets a body-colour rear spoiler in place of the black one.
Who it's for: first SUV, tight budget, drivers who want all-wheel drive and a heated steering wheel for a Lanaudière winter without paying compact-SUV money. The SE AWC is the sweet spot of the lineup.
The Outlander is Canada's second-highest-volume Mitsubishi in 2026, with 5,255 units in the first half. The current generation received a mid-cycle update for the 2025 model year: redesigned interior, improved sound insulation. The 2027 arrives in October 2026. The 2026 MSRP started at $36,398.
Who it's for: families who need an occasional third row and S-AWC all-wheel drive without moving up to a midsize SUV.

The Outlander PHEV is the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle in Canada. It received a significant update for the 2026 model year: redesigned interior, better sound insulation, and improvements based on feedback from customers, dealers and automotive media. The 2027 arrives in January 2027. The 2026 MSRP started at $49,998.
Worth noting: an Outlander PHEV registered in January 2027 will no longer qualify for the provincial Roulez vert incentive. If a plug-in hybrid interests you, a 2026 model registered before December 31, 2026 may deliver a better net cost than a 2027. We'll run both numbers with you.

A new all-electric vehicle with an MSRP under $65,000 registered in Quebec before December 31, 2026 can receive up to $2,000 from the provincial Roulez vert program, on top of the applicable federal incentive. The provincial program ends December 31, 2026: eligibility is determined by the registration date, not the order date. Since Canadian pricing for the Eclipse Sportback is not confirmed, its eligibility remains to be verified.
It comes down to two things: the government rebate and year-end clearance offers. For an electrified vehicle, a 2026 registered before December 31, 2026 keeps access to the provincial incentive, which a 2027 delivered in January will not have. For a gas model, the question is more about the clearance discount on the 2026 versus what's new on the 2027. We'll compare both scenarios with real numbers.
